Getting the sharpest engraving.
Resolution minimums, what works well, and what to avoid.
✓ Photos that shine
- Enough resolution for the size you choose
- Sharp focus, subject clearly in frame
- Good, even lighting — natural daylight is ideal
- Strong contrast between subject and background
- Original file, straight from camera or phone
✕ Photos to avoid
- Screenshots or images saved from social media
- Blurry, motion-shaken or out-of-focus shots
- Very dark, backlit or low-light photos
- Small images stretched to fit
- Heavy filters that flatten tones
Finished by hand, and it shows.
The engraving is done by laser, which is what gives the detail its accuracy. Everything after that is done by hand. The plate is cut from a full sheet, the edges are worked back, the surface is cleaned, and the piece is checked under a light before it goes into its box.
So no two are quite identical, and we rather like that.
What we would never send you is a piece with a scratch across the image, a mark you can catch a fingernail on, or an engraving that has not come out cleanly. If one falls short, we simply make it again.

Free UK delivery on every order. Please allow 5 to 8 working days for your keepsake to be made and dispatched, plus a couple of days for tracked delivery after that.
